Monarch Beach is an Orange Coast community located within Dana Point.  This quaint, resort style, seaside community is also home to two world class hotels, The St. Regis and The Ritz Carlton.

Monarch Beach gets its name from one of its most prominent geological features known as “Monarch Bay”.  Scenic hills filled with Manzanita and Sagebrush plant life slope toward the bluff top overlooking this majestic bay with curling surf line.  The area was once a preferred breeding ground for the Monarch Butterfly though now they are more rarely seen as Monarch Beach real estate and urban landscape has fully developed.

The community consists of many residences from upscale condominiums to multi-million dollar estates.  In the past ten years Monarch Beach has become a popular stop for visitors from all over the world and a popular investment area for those interested in real estate.  Today there is a fair amount of residential property that is being used as a "secondary home" by affluent homeowners that primarily reside in cooler climates or other parts of the country.  The private Monarch Bay Club is located on the beach in Monarch Bay and it offers fine dinning as well as many other beneifts to its members. 

Like many other coastal cities in South Orange County, Monarch Beach is home to a beautifully maintained  golf course known as the Monarch Beach Golf Links which both the locals and visitors regularly tee off at.  Few golf experiences can match the blend of stunning natural beauty and variety of challenges presented at this highly rated golf course.  Here, along the dramatic bluffs of the Orange Coast, master architect, Robert Trent Jones, Jr., has fashioned an intriguing layout in the Scottish links tradition on one of the select few oceanfront golf courses in the state. With commanding sweeping views to the Pacific Ocean, this par-70 championship course offers an unending variety of play.

Many experienced Orange Coast homeowners would tell you that Monarch Beach is truly luxury coastal living at its finest!  It is perfectly situated between the more famous city of Laguna Beach with its artist’s colony, fine dining and picturesque outdoor shopping to the north, and the city of Dana Point with its beautiful Harbor, rich nautical heritage and romantic coastline to the south.
