Aliso Viejo became Orange County’s 34th city on July 1, 2001, the only city in the county to incorporate since 2000.  The current population is approximately 41,500 residents living in an area 6.9 square miles in size.

With gently sloping coastal hills and valley terrain boasting picturesque vistas of the Saddleback Mountains, beautiful canyons, rock formations, pristine parks and city lights, it’s no wonder that Aliso Viejo has had the highest population growth of any city in Orange County over the last 10 years.  The city offers a multitude of amenities that mirror its motto of “Live, Work, Learn, Shop and Play” and its city slogan: “Aliso Viejo – Experience It All”.  

Aliso Viejo was planned and created to make it possible to live, work and play in the same community.  Residents can live full lives in their “own” neighborhoods and not have to travel from one place to another for work, relaxation or family activities, all the essential elements are close by.
